There were some problems with the organization. Because almost everyone waited until the last minute to pick up their race numbers the lines were long, and they decided to just hand out numbers randomly. It was a fun run with no official time anyway, so that was not important. But they also ran out of race shirts and said they would have to mail those. The race start was incredibly packed, and it took forever to open up. But it was a Batman run so I knew there would be a lot of kids and walkers, and it was mostly my fault for starting so far back.
The race itself was great fun. There were three out and back sections so you could see everyone in front and back of you. There was a long stretch through a tunnel that was complete with fog and eerie music. Most of the runners were in black with quite a few Batman and Jokers. It was not a fast course; there were some hills and sudden U turns.
The band was great, as were the post race activities. The race had photographers on the course and the pictures were free. But unfortunately they were linked to your race numbers so I got someone else’s. But despite all these problems I would do the race again. It was great fun.
Fun night time run with a few problems

This was the first time they put this race in LA and it showed! The entire run fair was located on a tiny part of Grand Park in DTLA. The lines for the packet pickup spilled out onto the sidewalk and were so bad that they just started handing out bibs without check registration. That meant that people who didn’t sign up got to run for free. Then they ran out of men’s t-shirts! These “professionals” then had me jot down my information on a blank piece of scrap paper and said that they’d mail me my shirt. I’m sure that it’s right on its way.
The race was incredibly crowded and never thinned out. As a result, it created an incredibly unsafe environment where people were tripping all over each other. I saw a woman fall multiple times because people had no space to walk or even run!
A complete money grab as they didn’t seem to cap the race so they could have as many registrants as possible.
I had looked at the course map, so I knew that this was going to be a hilly run, but so many people had no idea and were completely destroyed by the hills. So much for a “fun-run.”
This was the Fyre Fest of Fun Runs.
I crossed the finish line and got out of there as soon as possible.
I will NEVER do this race again, and I suggest anyone who wants a good race experience avoid this one.
