Croom Fools Runs

The Croom Fools Runs take place at Croom which is within the Withlacoochee State Forest. The forest was named one of the “10 Coolest Places in North America” by the World Wildlife Fund.

The event features a wonderful course that is mostly a great single track running trail that winds through outstanding Florida terrain and most of the trail even has tree canopy to keep off the sun. If you have never run this race, you need to experience one of the great places to run trails in Florida.

The beautiful and challenging 50 mile course follows 3 repeat loops on the Croom Hiking Trail through central Florida’s long leaf pines and scrub oak covered hills, past creek bottoms and cypress ponds. There will be a 6:00pm cut off. The 50K race will follow the same course with 2 repeat loops and the 16 Mile Race is one loop. This is a wonderful course at a great time of the year for running – you don’t want to miss this race.

All pre-registered runners will receive a full-color short-sleeved TECH t-shirt. Don’t wait to register because registration stops at 250. Top finisher awards will be given to all the finishers of the 50M/50K races. The top 25% (approximately) of the males and females for the 16M will receive an award. The award for this year’s race will be a heavy duty campfire mug. These mugs have a great feel and weight and it will quickly become the one grab with your cup of joe. Each award will be customized for the Croom Fools Run.

The post-race feast includes burgers, hot dogs, sausage, veggie burgers, rice/beans, pasta salad, munchies, fruit, eclairs and cookies.
