The Caribbean Christmas typically is a half marathon in Carmel, IN. I signed up for it last year; however, I was unable to go. To my surprise it was listed as a 5K in Chandler, AZ this year (one week after the typical half in Indiana). I need to get back in running shape so I thought doing a 5K would be a good start. The course was just along the streets of Chandler – basically around the block not too far from my house. Not much to see scenery wise, but the course was flat and fairly straight-forward. The medal was awesome – a large snow globe with a snowman & surf board. This was the first run in Arizona conducted by the race group. They provided a good atmosphere with Fractured Prune donuts, hot chocolate, reggae music, and some photo ops. I would definitely do it again and other races they put on.
