These Pennsylvania Appalachians may be old, but they’ll still burn your butt! Come play in the woods of the Michaux State Forest at the Buck Ridge Burn Half Marathon & 5K and test your trail grit on one of two challenging courses.
Of course the trail is the main event, but I know you’ll have an awesome time post-race chillin’ at Race Headquarters trail-folk style, enjoying the huge spread, breakfast for the 5K folk and lunch for the Half Marathoners, while grooving to the soul-filled music of one of our amazing local bands, Indian Summer Jars. Relax on the grass and help us cheer on the rest of the brave, hard-working runners!
In the mood for a quick trail fix or trying out the trail scene for the first time? The 5K course will leave you feeling satisfied with rolling, muddy double-track, winding single-track, and refreshing April creek crossings.
Looking for a different challenge? Take on the grit-testing Half Marathon! There’s a little bit of everything on this course: creek crossings, mud, roots, rocks, grinding climbs, grassy rolling double-track, and swift, snaking single track. The course is extremely well-marked with a generous 4 hour time limit, but the course record is HOT and hard to beat. Come have a crack at it!
Bring your friends and family and let’s party!

Beautiful well marked trail race in Central PA. The weather was perfect and bib pick p was seamless. We started out 15 minutes after the 5K runners and ran uphill for the first mile of the race. At Mile 5 there is a steep climb thathad to be hiked because it was so steep. At about mile 6 I tripped and faceplanted on a rock splitting my nose open. I had to run a half mile back to an aid station to get some bangdages so I could continue the race. It killed my time, but I was able to finish and I was not dead last. Well run race, good post race food and a music. Definately would do this one again.
