The race shirt we were promised turned out to be a sweatshirt 😊 in a variety of colors! (Okay, I chose black, but it goes with everything.) This was very welcome because the weather was literally freezing for most of the race. The course ran along the Boise River and through large parks on a clear, sunny, cold day on a wide and winding paved path with nice pedestrian bridges. The trees still had some colorful leaves and the river was clear and beautiful. Not much crowd support but if you like a scenic course, choose this one! Also, the race started right on time which is important when you’re standing in running clothes in 29 degree weather. Don’t forget to take in the artsy market downtown near Freak Alley afterwards.
