Second-year running it, and I probably will for as long as my legs work! Course is straight through downtown Cincinnati, you get to see lots of murals and cool older buildings. All the participants are in a great mood because of the post-run party, the energy is very much alive here! Medal is, as always, also a bottle opener, and the shirt has a nice design on it. I ran it slower this year because for my birthday I did this race then drove down to Louisville to do ANOTHER race and didn’t want to burn out, but I still had a blast at Bockfest and would definitely recommend it to anyone! Only thing that needs improvement is there needs to be kennels so that runners can be up front and walkers in back, my first mile was almost a minute slower than my other two because the first half mile was just dodging walkers constantly.

This race is very well put together. From check in running smoothly, to having a bag check, great beer, and an awesome finisher medal, this race was great fun. My biggest complaint is that the beginning is a bit of a mess as way too many people try to funnel through the start line at once. It might be beneficial to have fencing that is even with it so there isn’t a bottleneck. Other than that, you will want to be closer to the front than you probably think, as the first portion of the race is more dodging people that should have been near the back at the start. Once you make it to the only real climb, it gets better. Having people playing instruments throughout the course is a nice touch and adds to the fun of the course.

This was the best race I’ve ran so far. 2 free beers and a coney from Skyline Chili when you cross the line. The shirt is also really cool looking, and the medal doubles as a bottle opener! The scenery is cool if you enjoy modern settings, this takes you through the historic Over-the-Rhine area of Cincinnati. This is also the first race in the Run Beer Series, which is sponsored by the Flying Pig. Very well ran, good swag, good beer and food at finish, would recommend.

Ran this race just after being diagnosed with bronchitis (I know, my sister said I was an idiot). I’ve run it before though and always have a blast, so I didn’t want to miss it. The course is pretty easy, just a couple hills. The after party is really the best part, as is the case with all the Beer Series runs. Since it’s part of Bockfest, you can hang out for hours at Moerlein or wander around OTR. The shirt and medal are also top notch.
