The medal is more like a small dinner place than a medal. The community really embraces the race. Lots of cheers and support. Aid stations are next level. I had bacon at one! The love and support at the finish line and the fully functional tiki bar was a nice treat.
My only drawback was the last couple of miles in the dark the sand had blown over the shoulder so you have to road it a little which with some traffic made me a tad nervous. I adjusted and moved on safely.
For me this was not a one time race. I ran 11.5 and 5.9 miles of our relay. Beautiful course, fun well supported. This race is a winner in my book.
