Super flat and a two loop course with perfect overcast, cool weather. The big issue was that the course was definitely long – the course that we ran did not match the course map posted on the website with three differences that likely contributed to it being long. The results page has a comments feature with many runners confirming that their watches measured it as long. Hopefully this was just a one-off due to the course being different this year.
The positives:
* Lots of parking at the start/finish area
* Fun stuff to see including goats at the nursery, a seal lion, aircraft carrier, and general waterfront
* Packet pick-up on race morning was easy
* Post-race beers were very popular
* There was a dedicated person to warn people of a step up from the road and onto a path
Other things to know:
* There were a couple of patches of sand and gravel. Not sure if this will exist on the full round-island course
* The distances had turns/turnarounds at different spots which caused a bit of confusion, likely because it didn’t make sense with the distances being captured by GPS watches

Great course with awesome views of the SF Bay. Fun small vendor setup at the end of the race but that was for Covid safety. I wish the race was an hour later so it finished closer to the start time of the local businesses.
