The half marathon will be on the Mahaska County Recreation Trail all around Oskaloosa with a little bit of the running on the streets. UPDATE: The race will begin by the new Lacey Complex Stadium. This will allow for more parking and better central location for the meet. We will follow the path down and around the city of Oskaloosa. The course is hilly, but full of a lot of beautiful scenery. The race will begin and end by the community stadium for your convenience.
Oskaloosa Education Foundation (OEF) will be hosting its Pot of Gold Shared Half Marathon and 5K. Proceeds go towards a scholarship for a male and female runner, and the rest of the funds will go to support other OEF funding projects for students and teachers.
We will give medals to the top 3 individuals Male and Female in each age division in the half marathon and 5k. All finishers will receive a medal for the half marathon. The top relay teams and teams will receive a medal. Long sleeves will be handed out based on availability, so please make sure that we have you signed up because we will need to get shirt orders in by February!!!

This was a small race for a half marathon. I came in second in my age group for 50-59 and I run an 11ish mile pace for a half marathon. The town is really cute and the trail goes all around the town. It is paved, scenic, and not super hilly. The day I ran it was super super cold. I almost bailed out except I had driven 4 hours for this. I was glad I did it. Again, the trail is awesome for such a small town. Registration and packet pickup was easy. Plenty of parking for the event. Well run event. The race was not expensive and for a local cause.

This was a small town race, in a pretty little town. But my gosh the course has some brutal hills and to add to that it was brutally windy with 50 mph gusts. But all considering it was fun and they did a decent job. There were no snacks at the end and we really kind of needed them, we were depleted. The shirts were great long sleeve 1/4 zip bright yellow and a nice medal. There were also placement medals for the age groups and overall.
