Such a fun race! It is located just one island away from Gamla Stan (Old Town Stockholm). The course has a few hills, but nothing too crazy. The race starts shortly after sunset and has many bands, DJs and even an a capella choir at the top of one of the hills. You might want to stay within a mile or two of the finish line as public transportation doesn’t run that late. They start a 10K on the same course during the half marathon which leads to some congestion. Everyone is supposed to wear the race shirt while running which makes the photos and videos even better. All the emails were in Swedish, so I had to translate them to make sure I knew where to go, etc

The course was shaded and protected us from the light rain. It drained pretty well after heavy overnight rain, although there were some puddles that were hard to avoid. Parking, port a potties and post-race snacks were all good. I was disappointed with the race shirt. A soft tee shirt is fine, but the “Snoqualmie” on the front is not breathable. So, I’ll probably never wear it.

This is a pretty new race that is hopefully going to grow. Mental Health Awareness is just starting to get the attention that is needed. The races started and ended at the Capitol which was really nice. There were lots of aid stations and volunteers to make sure we didn’t get lost while meandering through Jefferson City. I liked going across the bridge, the pedestrian ramps were fun because you could see many runners as you spiraled up and down them. Overall, it is a nice race with a good opportunity to place in your age group. : )

The race weekend was very well organized with a lot going on. The Expo had a ton of vendors, drink samples, and free mini pancakes. With your race entry, you get free entry to the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. Get to the museum by 3pm because there is a line to get in and you’ll want at least 90 minutes to experience this emotional memorial. Supporters are out in force throughout the course, some offering jello shots, beers, etc The post-race festival was one of my favorites with a free beer, food trucks, and a great band! Nearby Bricktown is a fun place for the night before.

Toughest half marathon I have ever attempted. Many hills and two mountains, but outstanding crowd support. Lots of opportunities to have a beverage or snack as you walk up the huge hills. Roanoke is a fun town and they offer a lot of things to do throughout the weekend.

Nice expo in the Convention Center. They also let the runners stay indoors until just before the race. Great option if the weather is bad. Course is fairly easy, allowing you to see much of the city. Several reasonably priced hotels near the start/finish.

Another great destination race! Lots of very fun events throughout the weekend. Beautiful scenery, including the sun rising over the ocean. Post race concert, beer, rum, and LOTS of bars nearby. My only complaint is that it is sooo humid that I found it very difficult to run.

Almost the entire half marathon is along the coast. The last mile does a small loop into town (with a hill) and ends in the baseball stadium. Fun post- race atmosphere with plenty of beer, gumbo, and more. If you are trying to do a race in each state, this is a good one to consider- especially because it is in December.

My daughter spent the weekend in Montreal and ran the half marathon. We liked that it started at Expo 67, weaved through the city, and ended at the Olympic Stadium. The course had a big hill, but otherwise was not too tough. Public transportation made travel to and from the race easy. Montreal is an amazing city to visit with so much culture and history. September is a greta time to go. I highly recommend this race if you can also spend a couple of days there.

Half of the race was along the Pacific Ocean with amazing views. There were a few smaller hills and one major hill. The shirt was nice and they also gave a very nice dry fit pullover that I still wear five years later. Carlsbad is a fun place to visit and is just a short drive from San Diego.
