This is my hometown, but not the hometown I grew up in. Having moved away in the 70’s, Livermore is a whole new place. Running through the vineyards is so beautiful, making the rolling hills not quite so terrible. I love the course. The organization is great, and the locals come out to cheer, making the run to the finish line easier to do. I’ll be back next year!

Starting from downtown, running through the older neighborhoods, then into the open space and vineyards, you get a little bit of everything. Some hills, but nothing too crazy. Hills build character, right? Past the farm with the llamas. What? Llamas? In Livermore? I had the pleasure of growing up here, and after moving away, revisiting my old haunts, it brings back wonderful memories from my childhood. The race director knows how to put on a good race, taking suggestions and implementing them on the next race. This one is on my race schedule every year. I was not able to finish this year due to a stress fracture, but I will be back!

Beautiful course. Mostly pavement running, but the views and crowd support are great! Perfect weather. Just enough hills to make it interesting, but not too tough. Definitely on my do-again … MORE
