I heard good things about this race and I was not disappointed. The race had a huge party at packet pickup to celebrate it’s 40th birthday. The course was well supported, scenic and had only a few (all be them huge) hills. The course had a good variety of entertainment including bands and an Elvis. My favorite part was running thru historic Fort Worth at miles 6/7. Lastly, what gave this race 5 stars was the swag; pre-race t-shirt, finisher t-shirt, “warming” jacket, huge medal, bag of food and beer or wine. An extremely well organized race. A must for Texas!!

This race is one of the best I have ever attended. There are tons of activities built around the events including a “rum run” lead by a jazz band to a local distillery. The race course is flat and goes thru some beautiful neighborhoods and along a lake. There are a number of loud cheering stations to keep you motivated. After the race there is a fabulous food festival were you can try the best of Louisiana cooking. I absolutely LOVED this race and I would highly recommend it!!

Race had some pretty scenic moments, but I am glad I only did the half marathon. Towards the begining of the race you ran on the highway – cloverleafs and all. We had extra fans (annoyed motorists). Then you ran on the boardwalk which was lovely, but felt long. The course takes you past the finish at mile 8 for an out and back and you need to run around tourists.

I enjoy hill courses and Baltimore did not disappoint. The course takes you through a number of residential areas and finishes at the waterfront. The finish area had a number of snacks and treats. The only downside for this races was the heat. The half starts at 9:45 so if you are slow runner like me you are running in full sun and the course had little shade.

Final stretch offers half price races at the start of the year. This was a lovely- extremely affordable race. Race starts in the streets but quickly switches to the running trails. Medal and shirt were both nice. Weather was wet allowing for a cooler August temperature in Minnesota.

I like the theme of the race (Minnesota Vs Wisconsin). Race support was good. Course was mediocre – especially the last couple of miles to get into Wisconsin on the side of the bridge. Swag was a cotton nice fitting shirt, knee high socks and a ok medal. Last year’s gear was a little cooler. I would do this race again. It wasn’t a wow course but the race was well run. Make sure you leave time for the shuttle!!

The race started out rocky. A few minutes before the race was set to start the race director had to announce the buses weren’t coming. Thanks to some quick thinking and some very generous locals the race was able to start. The course was fast like the title and almost all downhill.

The course was absolutely beautiful!! As the sun rose and you ran down the road it just kept getting prettier, turn by turn. The course is almost all down hill with aid station perfectly places every two miles. The race also had motivational signs for individual running for something great than fun. By far my favorite race! Great volunteers, great course and great cause!

After years of seeing the ridiculous race bling I had to sign up. I heard many wonderful things about this race. The race was fine with a good indoor brunch post-race. I will say that 2017 was a very wet year so my experience might have been worse than most years. The bling was huge, the theme was fun, but I was not a fan of the race shirt. The shirts at the expo were adorable…what’s with that?

I questioned if this Disney race would be worth the high price tag…and I loved every minute. The races starts off with a host and a jumbo TV with movie clips and trivia. Speratically along the course are characters ready for photo ops. Light and music light up the park. Between miles 9 &10 there were storm trooper and other characters cheering you on. It was amazing, magical and just plan fun!

The race bills itself as being one of the most beautiful on the Pacific coast. For the first half of the race I questioned this statement, but the last 10k was gorgeous!! The was an amazing bridge that you run across – unique and stunning. Well worth a quick photo stop if you are not working on a pr and are able to break away from other runners.
The expo was tiny. I did liked that you have shirt options (long sleeve or short). Medal was just ok. There was post music and plenty of food and beer.

This course was brutal, beautiful and fun! I love hilly courses, but this was ridiculous. The background of this race was truly picturesque with rural country farms and mountains. I was even lucky enough to run thru the fog which made up for the steep inclines and declines. Temperature was cool which was treat since the race is in July.
I would highly recommend!!

First off this race had the best pre-race communication I have ever received. They sent me a free mileage pod so I could train virtually and they had weekly challenges leveraging the miles run using those pods. Very cool and unique.
The course was deceptively challenging. There are a number of bridges with long low grade inclines that just killed my legs. The true hills of Pittsburgh can be seen when the marathon and half split (marathon runs up a huge hill). Race also had one of the most organized finish areas with an alphabetic family relocation area.
Swag was good.
Exceptional well planned event!!

I can be a medal snob, but these handmade medals made the race for me. This race benefits adults with disabilities and each medal is handmade. In 2016 the race was part of a B2B with Mississippi Blues and those who did both received a painted plaque with the artists story.
The race itself was flat thru neighborhoods and post race food seemed decent (skipped). Overall, this race is a great value and it is for a good cause.

This half was on my bucket list…and it turned out to be a huge disappointment. Rock’n’Roll races are great for their additional pre or post race entertainment. Their actual races leave much to be desired. The parts of the course on strip were pretty. The mile in the dark by the airfield was terrifying. The last two water stations without water due to wind was disappointing. Overall, overrated.

I signed up for this race because of the theme and I figured I could convince my husband to run with me. From bourbon samples at the packet pickup to a gorgeous bourbon bottle medal this race was incredibly fun. The course has some nice hills, but it was very scenic with plenty of fall foliage. Overall, It is a great race to plan a vacation around.

There was very little course entertainment, the race temperature was ridiculously hot and humid and the aid station were a disaster. This is one race I would not recommend and my least favorite of my 40+ half marathons.

This race is super small and you need to carry your own hydration. Most of the competitors do the marathon or the ultra so if you are slow you may have to run solo (like me). What this race misses out in frills it makes up for with amazing natural views. This is one of the prettiest and most peaceful races I have ever done. Warning there is a cruel Hill at the very end.
