I am so glad that I did this race! It is such an Underrated Race! It was a perfect race to do as my last race of the year. I love running in the cold and by the beach with no hills! Everyone was super friendly, nice, and welcoming (even though it was freezing cold). This race had all the best little details like motivation signs in places where there are no people cheering you on (because you run through a trail) to people hugging you at the end when giving you a warm foil sheet with your medal (making you feel like you just won a gold medal at the Olympics). Also, they have the packet pick-up on the day of the race, which is awesome for people visiting from out of town. I would definitely recommend this race to anyone and everyone!

This was a wonderful park race! It felt like my old cross-country running days. This was the smallest race that I have participated in, because it felt like the majority of the runners seemed to be involved in some running club from the area.This was a great race to do (esp. if you need to cross of a half for the state), especially because they have packet pick up avaliable on the day of the race was perfect for people coming from out of town.

Perfect course for my first marathon! I would definitely recommend this race anyone planning to do a marathon. The weather was chilly in the morning but sunny at the end, which was fine because there was a nice ocean breeze. There were many water/gel stations plus other tables. Great cheering sections throughout the course (even on the base with our great military men and women actually cheering us on). There is one tough hill towards the later half of the race, but the downhill helps you at the end of the race. Lastly, you get lots of photos and can buy a cool video, and the party on the beach afterwards is awesome with the live music, beer, and food! Would definitely do this race again!

Great Race with lots of people cheering you on! Great swag and lots of water stops etc. I felt like this was a great first half-maraton race for me. There were lots of people cheering on the runners in every area of the race like even the part running through the park so you never feel alone or feel like you are going to get lost.
