We stood in rain and sleet before the start of the race with a trash bag over us that we had gotten at the hotel. It was a miserable start to the race, but as the weather improved, so did my spirits! Many of the local churches were handing out water/snacks. Overall, a very good experience. Affordable downtown hotels within walking distance of the start/finish really helps.

Key West is an iconic town for a race. The start and finish close to the wharf is a beautiful setting with the restaurants and shops. Running down the middle of Duval St at the start of the race, running along the waterfront, and past the “Southern White House” are one of a kind experiences.
