This is a fast, flat forgiving course. We stumbled on this marathon a few years ago when Charleston, SC marathon was canceled. I’ve been back each year since. When you arrive on Daufuskie Island runners are directed to a tent that has heaters to keep you warm, coffee, cinnamon rolls and bananas. Post marathon food is fantastic. There is free medal engraving and the best swag.

I love this marathon! I live in CT and keep coming back to CA to run. This was my 3rd consecutive year. The marathon weekend is a blast. The shake out run was fun! What a great turnout plus there was a raffle with wine as the prizes! The expo is small but jammed pack with cool vendors. I love that we get a sturdy backpack to be used. We are bused to the start and can stay on the bus to stay warm until the start. The course has some rolling hills. The course is breathtaking with beautiful wineries on both sides of the road. I felt like there was more downhill that climbs. The finish is at the high school. I
Packed dry clothes in my gear bag so
I was warm for our post recovery food. What a great experience.

This is my 5th consecutive time running Big Sur and I hope I can run it again next year. Loved the new staging area at the start. So very well organized. The course is amazing and hilly. Logistics were seamless from package pick up to the shuttle busses. Loved the new beer at the end too!

This was my second time running The Napa marathon and I can’t wait to sign up for next year. The logistics to getting to the start and post marathon are seamless. The shakeout run was a lot of fun with great raffle prizes. The course is pretty forgiving with rolling Hills and a net downhill. Volunteers are spectacular with water stops for every 2 miles and an overall great race experience

This is the 2nd time I’ve run this race and I’m planning on coming back next year. The weather has been perfect running weather. Even though this is a challenging course with rolling hills it’s my fastest marathon times. I loved the crowd support and the beautiful course. The race was very organized and easy logistics.

I love this marathon. This was the 5th consecutive year I’ve run it. This was my fastest year even though the course had changed and had to run on the sidewalk of the bridge. Logistic for this race are fantastic. Expo is one of the best that I’ve been to. I volunteered the past 2 years (from CT to CA) Post race party was great with Barefoot Wine as an additional choice. Course is hilly and challenging. The end of the race had a downhill that was tough! Breathtaking views on this course!

Logistic Bib pick up at the Expo was seamless. Our group have 3 different bus locations with the different races (VIP, B2B, 21 miler). There were no issues. Volunteers on each corners of each street directing.
The start in the Pfeiffer Big Sur State park. First 9 miles were rolling hills leading up to the 2 1/5 mile climb. Then, more hills to the climb to Hurricane point. Each turn, just when you thought you hit the top and there is yet another hill. The halfway point is Bixby Bridge with the piano player. Entertainment was from local schools marching bands, Taiko drummers, Dancers sporting their colorful outfits. Each mile marker has some of the funniest signs and sayings. The canter of the roads made it difficult towards the end. Totally worth it though.
Great race, very organized and beautiful!

This was my 51st marathon and one of my favorite. They were well organized from the expo to the finish line. Great race swag too! We are bussed to the start and able to stay on to keep warm until the start. I love this course as it was challenging but also superfast. There was not a lot of crowd support but it wasn’t necessary with the never ending beauty of the course. Each water stop had plenty of port-o-lets, friendly smiles and fantastic encouragement. The higher miles water stops offered honey stinger products and fresh fruit. Post-race offered use of the High School for showers & free massages. The cafeteria had the best hot tomato soup and ice cream too! There was raffles at the end with some pretty cool swag and gifts. Can’t wait till next year.

I love this marathon for so many reasons. The logistics, the expo, the course, post race festivities, volunteers, crowd support to name a few. I have paced this marathon 5 times. The first year I ran it I Boston Qualified. The course is not difficult and the crowd support is fantastic. The race is seamless with logistics from getting there, communications, water stops, nutrition and safety for all runners. I can’t wait to run it next year!
