I really enjoyed this race!
The organizers were very professional and courteous when it came to sharing information regarding the race plan when there was a local wild fire the days before that caused concern regarding transportation to the race site as well as possible air quality concerns. In the end, everything was good re: highways open and the air quality was great. They really handled this well even though it was incredibly stressful.
This did not effect the production of the race at all – they were still at 100% operational. It was a very fun course and a very fun race with lots of excited volunteers/staff. There was a ton of photographers on the course too and the photo-website service they used that allowed you to lookup photos by bib number and set an email alert on new photos posted of your bib number was a very nice touch.
Re: the course:
The final out-and-back portion of the trail run is tight on the spacing of the trail – you really are going to need to slow down to let the downhill runners pass and if you are not a fan of tight spaces that would be a little difficult
