Mile 9 will eat you alive so be sure to prep for hills during training. Running/walking on the bricks in Cowtown is not enjoyable. I was afraid of tripping on a brick and didn’t like the feeling of them under my feet. Medics were pushy at the finish line. Refuse a shot of salt. However, great attention to people who were injured or hurting. Aid stations were great, but many spectators were leaving or gone by the time we came through (17 min pace).

Weather is unpredictable in January in Northern Texas. The race started out cool, rain started to spit about half mile in. Rain continued through entire race (I was soaked, but stoked!) and snow began to fall shortly after crossing the finish line. The aid stations weren’t spaced well, but the refreshments after helped warm everyone up. Not a ton of crowd participation probably due to weather. Will be an annual race for me.
