Gentle course, most of it through a park on paved bike paths, no traffic, well marked, plenty of course marshalls, h20, gatorade and fuel on the course. Well organized, very nice people, small race with a “big feel.” Uphill finish. Course was exactly as described. Great post race support, medals, awards and Top City beer glassses for top in age groups. Would highly recommend if you need or want a half in Kansas or are running the 50 states.

Over priced and undertattended, nice place for a long run but not a race. Much of the course is run on Concrete walkways, some quite narrow. Zero support on the course for runners on a day where humidity was 100% and temp was 85. In other words if you fell or became dehydrated or overheated, you were completely on your own. Not impressed with this organization’s ability to do more than grandstand. If you can’t provide proper support don’t hold the race!

This is truely the “caribbean of the rockies!” The most spectacular tourqoise blue water you will ever see in a lake due to it’s limestone composition. Stay in the funky motel next to the start and be sure and get a raspberry milkshake after the race! Be ready for no shade and a lot of dry heat. A great experience and no crowds.

running a flat course at high altitude was a nice break for sea level folks. I can’t get over the fabulous mountain view! Great for your race vacation. Take some time to hike around the beautiful lakes, see the fantasic wildlife, take a float tour down the snake River, enjoy the cool, contemporary town of Jackson Hole and it’s great restaraunts and ski villages…bike the bike paths and take in the amazing scenery…Spend at least a week if you can or you’ll be so sorry.

Bussed to the start where you begin just as the sun rises. It’s about 40 degrees colder at the start than the finish so be prepared. It drops over 1900 ft in the beginning of the race so be prepared for serious down hill. Finishes in the city in the blazing dry heat.

Warm weather race for December, be sure and enjoy the island for at least the weekend, some great places for dinner after the race to celebrate. It’s flat as a pancake though, and can be tough on the legs using the same muscles for the whole race. Still very pretty and fun!

flat course, pretty fast. Heard it was scenic. I wouldn’t describe it that way…a lot of the run is beside a not so attractive railroad bed. The start was slow…waiting outside in the cold for 35 minutes just to get to the start line. The town is nice however, and has charm. The glass museums are great and all in all it is a nice weekend.

It’s a tough race because of the climbs so plan on finishing slower than your average pace. The best part is in the middle, where you are greeted by drummers on the road side readying you for a serious mid race climb. At the top, at mile 13, you are greeted by a pianist with a grand piano in a formal tuxedo, playing for you as you soar along the spectacular coastline, cliffside. The best mile markers you’ll ever see. A must for the bucketlist. It is the top of my marathons and will likely always be.

Alot of fun during festival week. Music, pirates, arts. It’s a lot of fun. The course is flat and fairly fast though there was a strong cross wind running out and back along a point on the water. Not a fan of flat courses but the scenery is nice and it’s festive! Always good to hit warm weather in the winter. 🙂

I ran this race while I was at a conference in Dallas. The club that sponsors the race was incredibly friendly. The start was pretty, the biggest medal I’ve ever seen and the course was nice. Pretty fast. I met some good friends that I’ve run other races with since then. Pacers are super friendly and helpful.

We rode to the start in a classsic old passenger train that was fully refurbished and beautiful! We ran along the roads and also some beautiful bike paths. If you’re a sea level runner, it may be tough to adjust to the altitude. Prepare to slow your pace and drink a lot of water. See the maroon belles while you’re there and do some hiking!x Beautiful ski town. A terrific vacation race spot! Stay at least a few days.

The views can be distractingly pretty, magnificent mansions and beautiful coastlines. A fun start. The first half is beautful. The second half is an out and back with a hairpin turn so it can get to be a little tough mentally to see other runners coming at you for what seems forever, but the ocean views are well worth it. Do it at least once.

I’ve run it 4 time and like Boston the weather can vary significantly, from blazing sun to snow and freezing rain. Be prepared. Because of the military and the loction, it is a very cool “big race” the f15 flyovers are inspriring. Great expo and great city. If you don’t like crazy crowded starts, you might want to go elsewhere. Everyone should do it once.

Great race weekend, fun city. Fast course, basically flat but crowded. Too many 1st runners timers stopping in crowded streets taking selfies and causing bumps and a couple of crashes. China town streets were crowded. Someone stomped my foot trying to avoid a group of runners taking a selfie and put a damper on my pace.
