Everything about it (expo, production, swag, organization, course signage, volunteers, crowd support, hydration/aid stations, vibe, hospitality) A+….. Did I mention the hills? The first 11.5 miles are beautiful, relatively flat and then there is the back half. This is where the hills come alive! However, the crowd support does not waiver. From 1-26.2 the crowd support is AMAZING… Everything from arriving at the airport where there were displays to welcome out of town runners, to the organization and efficiency of the expo, the beautiful medals and awesome finisher shirts, the variety of vendors at the expo, the organization of the corrals, the pyro/smoke at the start line, entertainment throughout the course, ALL OF IT- 10/10. I believe there were 19 hydration stations throughout the course. It never felt like we went more than 1.5 or 2 miles without one. The bridges were beautiful, the weather was perfect, and Pittsburgh was alive! The vibe was indescribable! I cannot recommend this one enough!

+Race was very well organized (communication, expo, check in, shuttle service)
+Course is difficult (the hills NEVER stop), but the scenery is beautiful, course is well marked.
+The medal is insane (in a great way)!
+The post race festivities were solid (cool photo booth, good snacks, etc…)
-Crowd support was minimal to sparse at times (it was cold though)
-Could use more hydration stations in the middle part of the race.
+Volunteers were great, very friendly and knowledgable.
Again I highly recommend especially if you need some hill challenge or training. Very well done, Run Liberty!!

It was a rainy and windy day, but the race was still great. The organization and production were both excellent. Despite the weather, the crowd support was better than I expected and consistent throughout the course. The expo had a wide variety vendors and was busy, but not overly crowded. If I’m being picky, the backdrop for bib photos was not stellar, but that’s my only real complaint about the expo. The morning of the race, the corrals were crowded (as most races are), there were plenty of porta pots at the start and throughout the course. The course at times (especially in the beginning) is very crowded, and you have to pay attention to course directions with all the races taking place (full, half, international half, relay). Several runners had to be redirected to the proper course. The marathon course is great, the only two real challenges are the bridge (very steep) and the underground tunnel (steep coming out) are the hardest parts and both within the first 8 miles. After that, the course flattens out for the most part… The crowd support is great on both sides (Detroit and Canada). The post party area was well organized with a variety of vendors. The medals are incredible and the swag bag was great. I highly recommend!

The views are insane. Absolutely beautiful! Exchange locations were efficient and well organized. The atmosphere (as always) is so fun. The boardwalk, beach, ocean view miles make it all worth it! They do need to address issues on the app to better help track your teammates while running. I would also suggest they use more course markers. With the beaches, boardwalks, and streets so crowded, it was often difficult to tell if I was on the right path or not. Additionally, the merch tent could up their game a bit too… Several of the items were covered in dust and dirt and there was not a lot of variety either. But, overall, this was a great race and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Highly recommend this one! Very well organized… Packet pick up was easy and efficient. Expo was solid. Excellent swag… Race day organization was 10/10 (make sure to pay for a parking pass in advance- it will make life a lot easier on race day. The race day organization was great. Crowd support was consistent and solid. The course is a little hilly, but nothing crazy. Consistent hydration/aid stations along the way definitely helped… The post race party was insane (in a good way). Several vendors, food/drink trucks, and free items. Again, put this one on your race list. You won’t regret it!

Great small town race! Super affordable, only paid $35 (I believe there was a window where the cost was only $5). Parking was easy, check in was incredibly organized and efficient. Expo was small, but very well organized with around 15 vendors. The volunteers were friendly, welcoming, and knowledgable. It rained the entire race, but the organizers were very thorough ahead of time with race communication (storms were forecasted). The marathon course is the half marathon course (ran 2x). However, despite the rain, there were plenty of aid stations for all 26.2 miles. Volunteers remained friendly and helpful for the entirety of the race. Crowd support was moderate to minimal at times, but was limited due to the rain. The race production was great, the post race party (even in the rain) was solid as well. If you’re looking for a PR, this is a good one. One tough hill, but other than that, super flat course. Local YMCA opened to allow runners to shower and change after the race (id and race bib required). Such a great race, for a great price. I will be back!

Very well organized, incredible crowd support, frequent aid/hydration stations. Absolutely beautiful course. Race shirt and medal look great. If I’m being picky, the course felt crowded for most of the 26.2 miles (narrow roads in several places). There were several times, late in the race, where it was very difficult to pass. The expo was great and had plenty of stands/vendors, but was crazy crowded… Post race, the shuttle back to Minneapolis from St. Paul was super convenient and easy. This was my third marathon and overall, the smoothest experience. I would highly recommend this race!

Seemed like there were water stations every mile. The course is challenging, but not ridiculous. The entire experience is unforgettable. I will be back every year I’m able!

Amazing first marathon experience! Very welcoming environment. Hospitality was great. The course is beautiful- a lot of elevation gain the first 8 miles, but levels out after that. Water/aid stations every mile and half(ish). Great encouragement throughout. If I’m being picky, the corrals were overcrowded (which I’m guessing is normal). I finished the marathon in just under 4 1/2 and it was evident there were minimal volunteers and snacks/etc. at the finish line at that point. They were still handing out medals (but I believe they ran out of medals later on). But overall, I couldn’t have been happier with the experience. It was a very well-organized race and I would highly recommend it! 9/10!
