The 4 miler is 2 miles up, and 2 miles down. Crowd and course support is amazing, and the time of year of this race (early October) makes the weather ideal. Well organized, great after party, and the medal and shirts are so fun! Definitely recommend this race.

From start to finish, you feel the love during this race! Yes, there are some hills to climb, and yes, the weather can be a bit unpredictable, but the support and cheers along the way will get you to that finish! The race itself is well organized and staffed and I will definitely be back next year!

I did the 4 way with extra cheese, participating in races Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. All weekend, the entire city is all in for the Pig. From the expo to the races themselves, it’s a non-stop party.

As much as the full marathon gets a bad rap for being super hilly, I was able to PR this course. YES, it’s hilly. But the crowd support and relatively flat remainder of the course after around mile 9 makes it such a good, bearable race.

The medals are top notch. Who doesn’t love a double sided medal, with a pig butt and curly tail?!

I did not set out to run this race to PR. I knew in San Francisco I wanted to take in the views, the experience of running over the Golden Gate Bridge and appreciate my surroundings. I was able to do just that! There are hills, but the bridge makes up almost 4 miles of the race, so that was flat. As someone who lives in Ohio, I think the race went by so quickly for me because I was literally looking around the ENTIRE race. This was a “runcation” for some girlfriends and myself, so we spent the two days prior walking and biking around San Fran. We stayed in a hotel walking distance to the start/finish of the race, which was very beneficial. I recommend it!

I may be biased being from Cincinnati, but this race is hands down my favorite. The Pig Weekend is the best weekend in the city. The course is not easy – the first 7-9 miles are up, up and up, but the remainder of the marathon is flat/rolling hills. BUT, the crowd support makes you forget all about the hills, all about how much longer you have to go. The after party is always fun, and on beautiful park grounds. The medals never disappoint – a big face and body on the front, pig butt and tail on the back. Do yourself a favor and sign up for this race!
