The vibe and support from the directors, volunteers, and spectators was ongoing throughout the 6 hours i was out on the course.
I loved the support from other runners whether I was passing or being passed. Each runner was running their own race, so while we were competitive with ourselves and hitting our pace or distance goals, we were supportive all around with our competitors.
The course is basically a figure 8 loop for 2.5 miles, which means you have the aid station, bathrooms, hydration, fire pit, first aid within half mile of you at all times and you cross past every 1.25 miles. This is in addition to your own tent station on the course.
You’ll be cheered on well, up to midnight, and then it starts to quiet down on the course, but by then you are greeted to a beautiful moon and star display. Pop in some music, podcast, or audio book and it’s almost like you are in the woods for a short time.
Great food and drink options at the aid station and upbeat volunteers.
