This was my first marathon so I don’t have much to stack it up against but it seemed to be well run. The course is pretty much flat minus a tough incline around the 20 mile mark. The race can be pretty windy and we ran into a 15 mph headwind for the last 4-5 miles of the race. Aid stations seemed well stationed and fan support was ok!

The majority of this course takes place on the Swamp Rabbit trail so it is fairly tight with a large amount of runners, but it is mostly flat. There is a tough hill leading to the baseball stadium (Fluor Field) where the race finishes. The best part of the race is the finish in the baseball stadium as my family was able to stand on top of the dugout to cheer me on as I crossed the finish line. This was my first half marathon and I think it’s a great one to do if you are wanting to try one out.
