Great race and a great location! The course is pretty, and not too difficult- just one hill. The shirt and the medal were awesome! The finish area became very crowded, it would be nice if it were spread out a bit more. Love that we’re right in downtown Huntington Beach. Lots of places to celebrate afterwards! Overall, I didn’t do very well, but had a great time!

I’ve run the half marathon many times, and even did the Bike Tour one year, but had not run the 10K. I really enjoyed it – the route was great, and it was nice to finish early (before most of the half and full runners), so the finishers village was not nearly as crowded as I have experienced before. The expo and the event overall seemed smaller this year, which is a good thing! I think it was getting too large in the past.

Decided to run this race at the last minute, since it practically goes through my backyard. It’s a small race with a ‘home town’ feel. The highlight of the race was the last 3/4 mile. You make a turn from the canal path onto Gilbert Road, and you are IN the Gilbert Days Parade! You run alongside floats and bands, with people lining the streets on both sides. Very cool – and very motivating at the end of the race!

In terms of the running, I loved it – trail running is awesome, and the beauty of the desert is always amazing. The ‘camp’ experience was unique. I missed the ‘team support’ during each leg of the race, since you’re out running solo, but it was nice to come back to a fun campsite and relax with your team members and others, rather than rushing into the van to get to the next transition. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d defiantly do another Ragnar Trail Relay.

Loved this race! It was very well organized – great communication prior to the event, good signage and directions, awesome volunteers, and a fantastic finish line event! The course was the most beautiful I’ve run. And costumes were encouraged – which is always a plus!

This was a fun way to kick off Octoberfest! The route is a fairly easy loop around Tempe Town Lake. A nice smallish race – not too crowded at all. The swag includes a tech tee and a plastic beer stein for your free beer! We stayed after to enjoy the festival and dance to some German Oompah Music! Costumes are highly encouraged!
