The Boring Marathon, Half-Boring Half-Marathon, and Constantly Boring 8K will start and finish at Boring Station Trailhead Park in downtown Boring, Oregon. Parking will be at Boring Middle School and surrounding neighborhood. Please use SE Wally Rd and SE School Ave to reach parking after 6:15 am, as runners will be crossing SE Dee St. The three races are all on the Springwater Trail, out and back, with the marathon having a few side detours to take in some local neighborhoods. The marathon mainly follows the Springwater Trail into Gresham and then continues onto a portion of the Gresham-Fairview Trail to Division Street before returning to the Springwater Trail, heading further west for a few more miles, then turning and heading home to Boring following the same route. The Half Boring Half is an out-and-back on the Springwater Trail. The same goes for the Contantly Boring 8K, which never really leaves the Boring area, so truly is constantly Boring. All races support the cross country and track teams at Barlow H.S. and West Orient Middle School and all proceeds go directly to these programs.
Limit – Marathon is limited to 120, Half to 230, and the 8K to 150.
Time limit – Walkers are welcome, but because we run part of the race along roads, we need to discontinue aid stations and traffic control after 6 hours. However, we will stay until the last runner/walker comes in and nobody will be disqualified by time. Early starts will be allowed – but are not required – for marathoners who expect to take longer than 6 hours.
Boring Sister City of Dull, Scotland – any resident of Dull, Scotland gets free registration (but you pay the travel).
The Boring Marathon is a USATF certified course and a Boston Qualifier.

* The RD gave details about the course at the start
* Morning bib pickup
* Parking right by the start/finish line
* beautiful scenery, bike path
* top-notch national anthem singer
* enthusiastic volunteers
* enthusiastic timing staff (someone gave me a printout of my result and my age group award at the end!)
* despite it being my 3rd worse time ever, and finishing 3rd to last, I won an AG award! yay small races!
* my slow time was (I suspect–lots of time to reflect from miles 18-26) a result of this being my 10th marathon in 365 days… or the ‘overreaching’ at Pocatello 3 weeks prior…
* The course was very doable, but it’s still 26.2 miles!
* it was raining from mile 7-14, then 17-end (for me). nice temps and partly-cloudy–no need for sunglasses 🙂
* I enjoyed the course on the bike path, with the two spurs. It gave a bit of variety, and a chance to see people. I was alone for quite a while in a small race like this (which was to be expected).
* nice swag–the medal and shirt are nice, the jelly beans and lip balm hit the spot for me!
* easy logistics to fly in/out of PDX, stay in the burbs.

Gotta love a race where one of the sponsors is the Boring Brewery! Nice, well-run marathon with that comfortable, small-town feel. Most of the course is on a rails-to-trails system, so level, secluded, verdant and quiet. Great aid stations with enthusiastic staffers to help you along. Particularly enjoyed the Luau Station at Mile 16; can personally recommend their rum punch. The Boring race shirt and Boring medal will bring a smile and the swag bag included a Boring Brewery pint glass and goat soap! What’s not to like?!?
