The annual Paws for a Cause 5K benefitting Serene Harbor at Fred Poppe Regional Park. Bring your furry friends out to this pet-friendly chip-timed 5K! This race is taking place both in-person and virtually! Participants will run or walk through the beautiful Fred Poppe Regional Park! With little elevation changes this course is simple, fast and perfect for your next PR!
All participants will receive a race T-Shirt & a Finisher medal! Awards will be given out to the top 3 finishers in each category!
Coffee, water and light snacks will be provided on race morning with 2 water stations along the course at mile 1 and mile 2. This is a Dog Friendly event! For everyone’s safety, we ask that ONLY well-mannered, vaccinated dogs are in attendance (please clean up after your pet). No retractable leashes allowed. Registration for your dog is optional, if you choose to register your dog they will receive chip timing just like you, a bandana and a special finisher medal just for the dogs! Edible awards will also be given to the top 3 fastest dogs!

This was a very fun course. It also had many furry friends. The weather was nice. Southern Timing puts on an A+ event every time I attend one of their events.
The start was great with a wide road to pass people and the course was very scenic. Every turn was properly marked with arrows and cones and even people standing nearby to make sure runners were going the right way.
I finished the race and checked my Garmin watch and it was EXACTLY the same as what the race had timed my run at.
The post-party was great because it was shaded with plenty of picnic tables. There were a bunch of different snacks which included water, pop, bananas, fruit snacks, and 3 other assorted snack bars.
Then they had the awards ceremony and that was quick and very cool. On top of giving a very nice shirt, Finish Medal, they also gave out 1st thru 3rd place awards to the runners in 5-year age increments. The icing on the cake was they gave out dog awards and doggie cupcakes to the dogs. How cool is that?????
