The Runners High Half Marathon is a refreshingly open course starting with views of the Uinta Mountains following the beautiful Bear River. Cruising through verdant fields, runners will enjoy the colorful morning sky. The guaranteed cool temps make for a speedy race. This gradual downhill course is easy on the body, but fast on the watch.
Starting at the high elevation of 7,165’, the Runners High Half Marathon begins at the Sulphur Creek Recreation Area and continues west for just over a mile to US Highway 150. This short climb provides expansive views of the Uinta Mountains. From there, runners descend for two miles to meet up with the Bear River. There are a few slight rolling hills until mile 5. After that, the course continues gradually downhill along the Bear River toward historic Evanston Wyoming. The course takes runners along Front Street before turning toward the Bear Meadows park. At Bear Meadows, runners will be greeted and cheered on as they complete a half mile lap to the finish line.
There will be a 4-hour cutoff time limit for all Half Marathon participants. Once the time limit has expired, those on the course may choose to continue to the Finish Line. However, no course support will be given and the parade route traffic control will end. Please follow all traffic rules.

I have run 180 racing events and this one I would have to say is in my top 5. Everything from the race production, to the views to the swag was amazing! It’s got such a cool small town vibe. The starting line view was the best I have ever seen at a half marathon. The course is high elevation but it’s mostly down hill so not too bad actually. The medal and swag was better than a lot of big time races I have done. If you are trying to do a 50 state thing this is the one of you to do in Wyoming!

This was a gem of a race–SO glad I found it. The course started by a lake and had beautiful scenery throughout. It had a lot of downhill (but no brutal downhills) and enough uphill to keep it real. I would 100% recommend this race just for the scenery and slope itself. Besides that, though, it was also just really well put-together. This race had all the details that make races great …. from excellent swag bags, to race t-shirts you’re excited to wear again, to well-stocked aid stations and finish line, hand-carved wooden medals, motivational posters spaced periodically throughout the course, photographers at multiple places on route, and food vendors and a roll-out station at the end. At the finish line they gave boxes of crumbl cookies for the winners, and dang it of that isn’t the greatest winner prize ever, haha. Only way that would have been better is if I’d been one of the winners! Anyhow, this race was pretty small with not a ton of participants (it’s a new race), but in my opinion that just made it better. I would definitely do this again and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone considering it next year!
