I’ve never seen such effort put into a 10K before. Normally in a race of this size, there is a marathon or a half involved, but there were around 6000 runners in this race alone. The course was great, with a large hill on Mile 4 and mostly downhill after that. It took is around downtown Charlotte with a large part being on the interstate. The location of the start/finish line was very convenient to nearby hotels and the medal and shirt were great! Would highly recommend.

I’ve never seen such effort put into a 10K before. Normally in a race of this size, there is a marathon or a half involved, but there were around 6000 runners in this race alone. This year was a little different than the first and felt a little more crowded at the start and finish. Always gets a great crowd but the course will surprise you! There is a big hill on mile 4 right as you are finishing the highway portion that’s rough.
I remember the first time I ran thinking that running on the highway wouldn’t be that exciting but it was a really amazing race. The views are great and a fun new way to see the city.

I ran Around the Crown in 2019 and in 2020. The race experience in both years was top tier, which was (of course) difficult to do in 2020. I ran with a stroller both in both years and the course was challenging but so much fun. Looking forward to running again in 2021!
