Good race to run on Thanksgiving. This year it was warmer so that helped. A lot of people ran the 5k. Always a beautiful run in Reno. The course was easy for the 5k and it was nice to have a run to burn all the calories that I ate later. I would definitely do this race again. The race swag wasn’t much. No shirt. But our medal was a gravy boat!!

It was a wonderful atmosphere and friendly people. The course is all on pavement, running next to the Truckee river most of the time from City Plaza downtown to Crissy Caughlin Park and back. By the time the race started (9 am) it was quite a warm morning for mid-November and it a great temperature to run.
The one thing that was a downer for me was that there were over a 1000 people who raced and due to a first registered-first served policy, only the first 800 registrants received any swag (finisher metal, socks and goodie bag). I knew that that was the case when I signed up, but I kind hoped that there would something else they gave out to the people who did not receive metals– such as one of the shirts they were selling. Or if they had discounted the registration cost for people who were not going to receive a metal, socks or goodie bag, I would have been happier. But that was just a petty thing.

Overall the race was run well, the course was well marked. There were two water stations), the course was flat and it was fun to run. Definitely want this to become a yearly tradition for me.

Sounds like poor organization. I've done races where they ran out of medals and obtained more, which they mailed to those who did not receive one. I've also had the experience of having registered early for a race, finishing late (I'm slow), finding that the organizer had not anticipated the number of race day registrants, and no race Tees in my size were available. I don't do their races anymore. LESS
