Sadly, on April 21, 2016 the earthly reign of the Purple Rain creator came to a tragic and premature end. At this anniversary, we will gather not only to “get through” this thing called life- but to CELEBRATE this iconic “Pop Life” figure.
Whether you were a fan of this “Musicology” legend or not, just like the color purple, or love the number “7” like Prince did, “Gett Off” the couch and “Let’s Go Crazy” and party like it’s “1999“.
Costumes are highly encouraged! Grab your “Raspberry Beret” or at least your favorite purple running gear- “Hot thing“, you know “U Got the Look“!
NOTE: The color Purple is also associated with several different causes. Unlike the color pink, which is almost exclusively linked to Breast Cancer Awareness, the color Purple is associated with a variety of causes. Among them include Alzheimer’s Disease, Animal Abuse, Eating Disorders, and Victims of 9/11 to name a few. You can read more here. Whatever the cause closest to you, I invite you to join us- We Run As One!
ALL race entries include a custom technical shirt, finishers’ medal, event timing, post race food, award eligibility, aid stations, and a fun time!

Found myself to be in NV for work and found this race which will cross off NV in my 50 state quest. Low key start line. Super small race. Found myself alone most of the time on the course. The course was 3 identical loops – not my favorite. Course was well marked thankfully. Unfortunately I forgot my water. I needed more water than what they had available. It was 80 – no shade and hot. Mostly walked the last 2 miles.
Would recommend. Organizers and volunteers were very nice. Liked the shirt but unfortunately was too big.
Curves and inclines... 3 laps identical

The race started at 730am. Packet pick up same day, no expo. The route was in the sunset park. 5k, 10k & Half Marathon runners started together. The park was op3n, so there were no participants walking and walking their dogs you had to watch out for. Also, since it was in the park space on walk way was limited. Water stations were in 2.5 miles and when you did the turn around to start 2 &3rd laps if you were running further. No crowed participant. And limited people once the half was finishing up. Not many participants for the half only about 40 people. Small race… cool medal.
Friendly and well organized

I ran this as part of a birthday weekend in Vegas. It was relatively flat and hotter than I was prepared for. The volunteers and the race director did a great job. Many of the 5K runners/walkers dressed up and had a great time. I loved the pancakes at the finish!
