This is definitely a BQ course if you don’t mind running around a park for the majority of the race. I for one find it mind numbing and this type of course doesn’t work for me. The same scenery and not much to look at . Little crowd support due to the fact you’re running around a park.
More fueling options on the course . I only recall being offered gels and nothing else. It was warm and humid on this particular day. I brought a bottle of water but it wasn’t enough to sustain me the entire race. Some water stops I missed because I didn’t want to stop or couldn’t grab the cup. I appreciate at another race I did, the volunteers followed us to make sure we got water if we couldn’t grab it. This isn’t a a big race so it’s definitely doable and very helpful.
My favorite part of the race was leaving the park and running on the bridge at mile 24 or so. They need extra pacers. They had 345 then jumped to 4hrs. I’m not sure the reason for this. I’ve seen other races with 350 , 355 etc.. Decent food aftwards. It would be great if there was Gatorade post race and not just water and beer. Super impressed with the runners still on the course with pouring rain..
I liked the last water station as they handed us Leis. That was a fun touch. Get some kids from the local high school, buy scouts, to volunteer or the high school marching band to play on the course . Even some singers playing in the park to keep things interesting along the way. Those are my suggestions to improve the experience for folks that might consider this race.

I didn’t know when we started but it was crowded for the first few miles. The crowded support top notch. Only thing people need to remember to cheer for runners . Amazed how many people just stand there and watch runners go by them. 😀 The aids stations were plentiful. Even extra mom and son aid! Elvis made an appearance very cool. The is the best marathon I’ve done. The crowd support kept me engaged and I didn’t check out like Ive done at other races. I truly appreciate everyone that was out there. It made the for the best experience. We drove the course te day before but we missed parts of it. People made it sound like it was a difficult course but I didnt think it was bad. I took the first half a bit conservative and then dodnt pick up my pace. I didn’t care as I justed want to enjoy the experience more than anything even comprising my hope to BQ. My plan pick up the pace at the last 10k. I managed to do that too. It was as fast as I wanted it to be but I definitely had fuel left in my tank the last 10k of the race.
I think anyone that wants to experience a fun marathon with lots of support this one is it.
Go run it you wont be disappointed.
Ps. Im not sure who the guy was but he was dressed in a Pig costume at the airport and they were taking pictures with him
They also had water and fruit snacks for participants.

I liked the starting area and plenty of portal potty’s. The one stretch along the highway is kinda of boring but then you get off and run by an elementary school etc then eventually you get the park. The park running was ok. I like that this was a point to point race. I did get a PR I was hoping to BQ but didn’t happen. I’m not even sure why . This was a decent course but no plans to run it again.
