I’m very impressed by this race. Very communicative through email and Facebook, and it’s awesome that they had a backer who put up money so registration fees were essentially zip. Packet pickup was a breeze, and the race was excellent. Except for that hill.
My only gripe was that finish line beer was not free.

I’m familiar with the hills in KC (my sister lives here, so I’ve run a few races here), and they still kicked my ass. At least the final half mile or so is downhill to the finish. Nice race swag (soft T-shirt and KCM logo Goodrs). And I always like a race expo that has free beer (thanks, Boulevard!). At the finish line festival, participants got a barbecue sandwich and a free beer, both which were good. It was nice to have a choice of a couple different beers instead of just something light and crummy.
