Awesome medal and tshirt. Course flat one over pass . 2 parts of the course are out and back. Not very scenic . Good support on intersections but don’t expect big crowds, ok any crowds cheering along the course. Not a big race maybe 900 ran the half not sure about the 5k. Shuttles from race hotel ran a lil late. Good food after great vibe and lots of free beers and tito’s vodka afterwards.Plus you are in the big easy..good reason for a getaway race and vacation.

The course is not flat. There are lots of inclines the slow steady kind and by mile 6 you realize why your calves are burning, Huge hill at mile 9, Amazing scenery at the top. Great water stops..those saved me it was hot for me I had been training in cold temps. I ran a pretty slow time but the race is well done.

CONS*The course was not well laid out, it went from downtown out to breckenridge park along a very narrow trail with runners going on both sides as you turned around inside the park. Hard to pass people and crowded. One mile or so led to a trail of caliche looking rocks that has been attempted to be held down by asphalt at one time. I was just praying I didn’t fall this path led to cobbled bricks some which were hollowed out like tiny pot holes! Again the better bricks were only on a narrow strip. The last two miles went back on to the river walk again very narrow hard to pass and lead back to the Alamo which was the start and finish. I know SA pretty well and there are lots of scenic pretty parts to run sadly we didn’t go by any of them.:(
* food at the end was average.long lines
*expo/ packet pick up was unorganized
pros
* bad ass medal! nice tech shirt and a very nice canvas goodie bag, custom bibs cut out like the Alamo
* free beer at the finish 🙂
* signage was good along the course and intersections well secured by SA PD.

That goodness SA had a cold front it saved me race started at a nice 45 degrees .

I would probably not run this again unless the course was redone.

But excited for my time. 🙂

Great swag. Love the 3 year medal series. Quality shirts, cap and jacket. The course has some rolling hills and one big hill but great variety. Aid stations seem good. I use a hydration pack so didn’t stop. Lots of port potties. Great use of corral system. Easy to run not crowded.

My favorite! The course is tough first 7 miles are rolling hills. The crowd support is amazing there are people at every part on this course. Carrying signs, some of them have made their front yards into a tailgate experience for the race. The energy is contagious and you forget all about the hills. Great t-shirts, we got jackets for the 10 year anniversary and medals are awesome. The Expo is great put this race on your list you won’t regret it. Tulsa has great dinning and friendly people excited you chose their city to come and race in.

I ran this because I recieved a free voucher from DRnR offered to people who had signed up for Cowtown but could not run due to races being cancelled by a big ice storm. So glad I did. Ran a PR the course has some hills but is laid out well and gives you lots of cool parts of the city to run in. There seemed to be lots of crowds on the course cheering. The shirts and medals were great. The expo was kind of small compared to other races. Good race would run it again. Well managed the corrals go fast for being a big race.

This race was not fun. I expected a pretty course but it was kinda bare. The altitude affected me a lot more than I anticipated and that made it a tough race for me. I didn’t feel like they had enough aid stations. I like Santa Fe but this was not the race for me. The course is an uphill climb for the first couple of miles and then descends but many parts of the course it is just you. No crowds.
