This was my 2nd time running this half marathon. The start and finish line was different this year. I liked the other place but this was even better! The beer garden is really nice with tables and shade. As always Orca has well marked courses, great volunteers, and a variety of snacks at the finish line. I hope I’m in town next year to run it again!

I’ve run this race three times, once when it was really tiny wen coming out of Covid, last year, and this year. I loved the new start line- parking was really easy and it wasn’t as crowded in the beginning. The new finish line was a little snake-like which I understood they had to do to get the exact 13.1, but it was amazing for the spectators! The start and finish have changed a few times over the years which makes me think they’re trying to get everything just right. Hopefully next year! I’ll do it again no matter what.

The course has a lot of variety of sidewalk, a little trail, roadway, and views of Puget Sound. It has some hills and a lot of rolling hills which makes it challenging. Orca Running always puts on really fun races and enjoying the town of Poulsbo after the race is one of my favorties!

The Orca Half is one of my favorite races each year. I love that it’s point to point, the course has a lot of variety: trail/woods, wealthy beach homes, Alki Beach, and even an industrial area. Yes, you run past the finish line at about mile 9 but the amount of spectators cheering is really fun. The finish line area always has a good amount of sponsor booths even with it being about a 1,000 person race, and Orca Running always serves up a plethora of post race snacks. I already can’t wait for 2025!
