Day three of the trifecta, this course gave me more challenge. I begged my friend to do the race with me because as a true back of the packer, I was getting bored with spending so much time alone. We walked the course. My time is an estimate but I forced my friend to let me finish last when we finally reached the finish line.

Even at the back of the pack, we were extremely well cared for. Unlike the first two races, this course contained a bit of a hilly trail. Despite that, there still was a proper water stop on the rugged trail.

The Bear Lake Trifecta was a major part of my 2019 running schedule and one of the biggest highlights of my running career. Given the opportunity, I would do it again.

Day Two of my first multiple-day marathon event, I was surprised how I felt beginning this race. Again, great camaraderie among the small number of runners. I was able to find plenty of other runners to swap race stories with. In fact, I had the honor of walking a few miles with a pleasant Brit who was on his second time around the fifty states. This day I was not last but not far from it.

The Bear Lake Trifecta was my first multiple-day running event. The number of runners was low but the camaraderie was high.

Of the three races, this one was the prettiest. All three races are out and back runs. Some people find this boring but it helped me because I saw everybody and I spent less time alone.

I did miss a turn last on the course and was the last finisher. However, it also helped me stand out in the small field.
