I had high expectations for Vacation Races, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing on several fronts.

Before the race, they heavily promoted joining a “waitlist,” giving the impression that additional spots might open. In reality, it seems there was never any intention of expanding capacity, which felt misleading and frustrating.

Logistically, the race day itself was poorly handled. Shuttle transportation to the start line was disorganized to the point of failure—we were essentially left stranded and had to scramble at the last minute to find our own way there. Even pacers were left stranded, having received incorrect information about pickup times. That added unnecessary stress before the event.

Safety during the race was also a concern. Not all roads were properly closed, forcing runners to go single file alongside active traffic. That’s not just inconvenient—it’s unsafe and unacceptable for an organized race.

While the scenery was undeniably beautiful, that’s not something the organizers can take credit for. The natural setting is the only highlight, and it doesn’t make up for the lack of planning, communication, and runner safety.

Overall, I would not recommend this race based on my experience.
