The first half is every so slightly uphill, but not too noticeable except that it improves the view. Since it is out-and-back the second half is downhill. It was notably faster going downhill even though by that time the weather was starting to warm up.

This was the first race I paid for, and it was worth it. I wasn’t running for time. I had a personal cheerleader/assistant (not allowed for official run times), but with the amount of aid stations you really don’t need one. Most of the uphill parts were near the beginning, except for a nice little hill at the very end. The scenery near the beginning was awesome.
