This is one of the flattest courses I have done. Unfortunately, I did not train properly for this half. I can see that if trained properly, it definitely could be a course for PR.
I felt very safe on the course every intersection had a police officer directing traffic. Plenty of water stops and medical support.
I receive a nice long sleeve quarter zip shirt for being one of the first to register. This is one that I will actually wear again.
Homemade wooden (painted) medallion, made by L’Arche organization. The benefits go to this organization of people with and without intellectual disabilities. Its a unique medallion, however; not my favorite as I prefer a medal.
Finish at a nice park, with plenty of food.
We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, across the street from the park where you finish and within walking distance to start line too, perfect place to stay.

The outer banks marathon is beautiful. The half marathon is virtually flat other than the bridge at mile 9. At the top of the bridge is 10 miles. Perfect for me as at mile 10, I always say “ it’s just a 5k now” and downhill 😉. As a side note you will so accomplished when you beat it.
Nice medal, nice race shirt and nice after party at the park, snap a shot of your medal with the Roanoke lighthouse that is at the finish.

I thoroughly enjoyed running through brewers stadium. My family was there holding signs, cheering and taking pictures. What a great way to get you pumped up to exit the stadium and finish. I also really liked running through Miller’s beer distribution area.
The course itself had a couple decent inclines.
Enjoyed race personal out on the course, running with us, talking to us, making sure we are good and what’s coming up.
Great medal, great race communication.

This is a beautiful course, the trees, grass so very green and so nice when you get to run by the water. You will go through one covered bridge and pass two others. Amazing volunteer and police support, the community really comes out to help make the half marathon a success. Quite a few inclines, but, what goes up must come down. I would say it’s more downhill than uphills. The most significant being Mile 5 is a gradual uphill and mile 8 a short but steep incline.
I’m a slower runner and was supported till the very end, which is always a bonus!!! Thanks to the covered bridges race committee for assuring all runners have a good race. I would recommend.
Good to know information: It sells out fast, so if you don’t get in, you can register through one of the charities.

I have completed half marathons in 24 states and this is the flattest half thus far, only one overpass to go over. Just before mile 2 you will go through the Citadel military college campus, then miles 3-5 run along the water. Miles 6-11 run down king street, 5.5 @7 through shopping area, otherwise not a lot to see. The run finishes near Riverfront park, nice after party with shrimp and grits, 2 beers per runner and live music.
The extras… good expo, great race shirt, nice medal and fabulous communication.

Enjoyed the course for the most part, at mile 2ish you will run across Longport bridge and then you will go out a bit, turn around and do it again at mile 4ish. Otherwise, the course is flat and a good stretch is on the ocean city boardwalk which is neat. You come off the boardwalk at about mile 9 and go into a residential street, turn around and 10 miles and head back to the boardwalk. This stretch for myself didn’t seem like it was ever gonna end.
They had plenty of water stops and cold/clean washcloths in 2 locations (a little piece of heaven)
Great long sleeve shirt, great medal, great food after finish.

Race production was GREAT, great communication, quick feedback.
Suggestion number #1 get there early and park at the finish. You can park at the finish line and walk up the hill to the start, otherwise you will park at the start line at the top of the hill and have to walk up the hill to your car after you finish.
Closest hotel to Colebrook is about 20 miles away, however; I found a great home on homeaway.com in Colebrook that worked out perfectly.
The course itself is mostly next the water and very beautiful, couple hills mixed in here and there, the last mile is a decent incline, but running to the finish across the bridge at the finish was awesome.
I took this one easy as it was my first time doing back to back half marathons, and they are very generous with the time to finish.
Shirt was okay, nice medal, decent food at finish.

*The scenery was beautiful.
* Race was very well organized.
* Medal is one of my favorites.
This was state my 21st state and one of the most scenic half marathons I have ran. I would highly recommend stay at one of the hotels in Teton Village. It is a short walk to the buses that take you to the start and you finish at Teton Village. We stayed at the Snake River Lodge and it was closest to the buses. It was chilly while waiting to start, but, they had heaters and even let runner stay on the buses until the half started. Don’t be fooled by the temperature, once you start it heats up quickly. I was wishing by the end that my layers included short and a tank top.
From around mile 5 to finish is a constant gradual elevation climb of about 150ft. You don’t even see it happening it is so gradual.

Very happy I chose this destination to check of Wyoming, highly recommended.

This was my first all downhill half marathon.
For a small race, race directors did a good job, Good communication.
It was a beautiful course, I took several pictures on the way down. Packet pick up was nothing special, however the tank tops are nice material, I will wear again. The medal is also very nice.
The only thing I struggled with was the heat, it got really hot towards the end.

Was thankful that most of the half marathon is in the shade, mostly on the boardwalk. I took it easy do to not being use to the Georgia humidity. The race is pretty flat with plenty of water stops. Medals did not arrive in time, and will be mailed to us. This is not a bonus, pretty disappointing to find out the night before the event. I ended up doing 14.27 miles as no volunteer’s, signs or cones to let me know where to turn into Fowler park near finish.

Great scenery, plenty of water stops and the weather was great. It sprinkled a couple times, but, actually was felt good. I felt great the whole time, well except for the never ending incline between 11-12 miles. The cobblestone towards the end was interesting, but just need to pay close attention to your footing. I wasn’t a fan of the race tank, but, the medal is very nice. Two beers pizza and ice-cream were the highlights of the many snacks and refreshments at the finish. I would recommend this half marathon.
Last thing, stay at the Hyatt place Portland old port, start and finish are literally out the front door.

The scenery along the ocean was the amazing. It was so awesome to listen to the ocean and watch whales breach while doing a half marathon. Its a pretty flat course, which is always a plus in my opinion. I like the medal and even has the island of Maui and turtles on the back. Ice water at the finish was a bonus!!!
The Race did a great job of recognizing individuals completing goals, such as; 50 state marathon, 50 state half marathon and they even got number 50 on the bibs and an extra medal.
I was only my 17th state, but, great to see the individuals recognized <3
Things I felt could be improved, lights by the porta potties in the morning, more garbage cans, clear course of debris, music before start.
All said, I would recommend this half marathon.

The scenery is beautiful in Minnesota in October! Stayed at the hotel just across from the start line (which made the morning very easy) and only a short walk to the expo. I really enjoyed the long downhill @ mile 5 and the trail through the trees right after the downhill was so beautiful. The after party was great too. And only $6 uber back to the hotel when all said and done.

I have no cons for this race. Everything was organized very well and the course was flat and beautiful. I always enjoy a race were the community fully supports it. This race was by far the most community supported race I have done, the residents putting their sprinklers out in the road, one man played his grand piano in his front yard, the banjo payer in the middle of the woods, a fiddler, guitar player and a little girl even brought her sheep out for us to admire as we ran by.
Best communication from race directors pre race and post race I have ever seen.

This was my 15th half marathon and by far the worst organized. I sent Texts and emails to the number and email provided on websites, questioning my son not being listed as a participant and they never got back to me. Packet pick-up was at 7:30 the morning of the run, Run started at 9:00. So, we sat around in the heat awaiting the start of run. A start of 9:00am in June was to late as it was VERY hot and humid. Multiple runners were taken off course with heat exhaustion. After I finished and was awaiting my ride, my family assisted another runner on a bench with heat exhaustion. I ran to the finish line as my husband was taking care of the runner and asked if any medical personnel was available. They told me no, the have all left.
They ran out of water, and we were told Medals did not come in on time and will be ship to us. They best part of doing a half marathon for me, is getting the medal at the end for completion.
On a positive note, The scenery was beautiful. Race shirt is nice.
So disappointing, to travel to Brooklyn and have it be such an unorganized race. I would not recommend!!!!

Race organizer’s did and amazing job and the community support was amazing as well. The expo at race pick up was better that expected and well organized. I was amazing how the people of Fargo came out to cheer on participants, and had fruit, donuts, etc. for the runners. Awesome under armour cinch bag, very nice shirt and medal.
Course is flat and doable, especially when you have all the supporters out there cheering you on.
