Andbuty Choy's Staging Area

THE GOOD:
– Race kit pickup was smooth and easy
– Parking was so close to the start/finish line
– Shuttle buses for the HM/FM were organized nicely
– Indoor waiting area for both pre- and post- race
– Getting pizza and hot soup after the race
– A nice long stretch of downhill on the HM/FM course
THE BAD:
– Huge bottleneck just after the start line for HM/FM, which forced runners to walk for a bit due to congestion
– No corrals, so walkers and slower runners were blocking the paths
– Not enough water stations. The 10K only had one at around the 8K mark, which you could use at the 2K mark, but you had to cross over to the left. Nothing at the U-turn point. The half had water stations at 3K, 6K and 9K, then there was no water station until somewhere between 14-16K.
– The additional medal we got for “Run the Hammer” was a bit underwhelming, especially considering the beautiful medals they gave out for the actual races. I also found it interesting that 1K, 5K and 10K finishers all got the exact same medal (so yes, I have two exact same medals since I ran both the 5K and 10K), and HM and FM finishers got the same medal. They also ran out of HM/FM medals, so those coming in later did not receive one and have email the organizers to get one.
– The post-race bananas were not edible (still green)
