I decided to sign up for this run on a whim and I hadn’t run a timed race in 5.5 years. I was SO excited! I headed to Phoenix Park and everyone working was so nice and helpful. Next you can get the NICEST apparel (living in mine since race weekend) and the sense of community is so strong.
then it was finally race time
1. loved the starting line atmosphere! everyone was so excited. beautiful weather.
2. the scenery is OUTSTANDING. you couldn’t have picked a better view to run past.
3. the course had a few up and down hills so enough to challenge you but not burn you out in the first half mile.
4. the finish line: the whole crowd was excited and I felt so so happy with my race! the sweetest lady offered me chocolate milk and they gave you a goodie bag with snacks and water and then you got your medal!
overall this was an incredible first experience getting back into running and participating in an event like this
PLUS you get a nice little plaque if you place in your age catergory!
I will 1000% without a doubt be returning next year!!!
