Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon was a happy surprise! A beautiful fall day to run along the lake. To early for fall color but still beautiful course in lovely neighborhoods. After the rolling hills at the start, course felt like a very gradual downhill to Milwaukee.
Race director sent informative emails prior to race and after race. Do this race!

– Hearing and seeing the river rush up to the half
Cons:
– Altitude and sun zap the engery
– 4:30 Pacer dropped out
– Confusion race morning getting on the correct bus.
– Wear sunscreen. Need some shade from mile 17 on!

The water stops were abundant throughout the course with multiple stops that had Honey Stinger gels. Not a very much crowd support. Road surface was rough in spots and portions are on cement! After race was party gave you a taste of LA. That was a little something extra.

What a fun race! The fall weather was crisp and overcast for the entire race but there was no rain. Yeah! Course ran through some beautiful neighborhoods with fantastic support and block party atmosphere. Favorite things on the race course were the bells tolling at Basilica of St. Mary, Tarrytown Turn (where your feet meet the beat!) and the sound tunnel!
