Kansas City Marathon is a great course through some of the best areas in KC! It starts in the downtown area, runs by Nelson Atkins, through the Plaza and back to downtown. The course is full of hills but if you run it right you can make up some lost time on the downhills. The course support is spectacular and you will never have to run more than 2 miles to hit an aid station. Plus, there are spectators all along the course which helps will you through those tough miles! Definitely a race everyone should run at least once!

The course mile splits were off from the beginning by about .2. I wish there would have been more spectators and the end party was lackluster. However, this is the first time this race was put on so I think the race directors did a great job, it was a great course with lots of great scenery and the medal was really cool. I think there is room for improvement next year and the years to come but overall it was a great first time effort!
