There are a lot of pot holes as you start the race and the sidewalks with lots of trash that City of Oakland need to fix and cleanup before the race.
They ran out of Electrolytes on the course, and at the festival there were no beer and tacos as advertised.

It’s a trail run around a lake, definitely need the gaiters for your shoes. It is a race I always love to do considering the time of the year. Especially when it’s a brazen race. They are the best organizers. Very loving.

I would say from being a first timer, very well informed, easy communications with the mentors. Every information was there. Course was great and lot of local community support. Lots of aid station and tracker’s helped friends. Expo was mind blowing with great prices. Merchandise was just great. Love the swag. Definitely running in 2019. Only wished if they had package deal to buy the pictures. For being a first timer I would have purchased all of them.

This was my worst time ever for a 5K but it was totally worth it. Great for Strength building working those leg muscles. I was glad I chose 5K for this not a 10K, but it’s always a celebration after with Brazen.
