The morning start was chilly so wear disposable layers and gloves. They had an impressive light show to not disturb the neighborhoods and wildlife. The energy is amazing, and race support was strong. Every hill shows something scenic and crowds, besides the aid stations, were willing to give food and water. All the aid stations were fully stocked to the end. The temps warmed up once the sun came up. And it got hotter and hotter. So hydrate, because this race is typically cool in the morning and hot mid day and evening. It is the desert.
At the finish line in town, they provided ice cold tubs, 4 of them. Everyone had to dunk themselves to cool off. They have a large massage section and cool off tent for all. The food at the end was very impressive.
Such a great race!

This was scenic, very supported, and extremely windy. The beginning is chilly so wear extra layers to shed. Portable Pots line fills up fast, go as soon as you get there. Bring wipes just in case toilet paper runs out at aid station pots. Finish line is so supported and very helpful.

Plenty of hotels around to bus you to start line. Communication about race was good. It’s a good time of the year for a run here.

The expo gets full so go early. The start line is chilly but not too bad, just wear gloves and hat. Many wear rain covers to keep warm. The energy is always amazing at CIM. This is a great first timer race. Some sections had sticky course sections though, because participants would just throw their energy gels on the course and everyone behind would stop on them. There is a ton of cheering in spots all the way to the end. The finish line is the Capitol, so that was the best place for a foot massage and carbs, which they had a lot of.
Great race.
