Limited cell service. Running on road not fully blocked but with police blocking especially at the start. I did the Blackberry. The smaller roads from about 3 until the half … MORE
Limited cell service. Running on road not fully blocked but with police blocking especially at the start. I did the Blackberry. The smaller roads from about 3 until the half did have cyclist following as well as some safety gators on the twisting roads from about mile until the half. I enjoyed it but the hill was very hard. A unique race and glad I did it on the 25th anniversary.

I haven’t done other KY races but did research others. Was hoping to see the balloon glow the night before but wind 10-20mph only allowed torches. There were a lot people out and parking was pretty difficult to find. The race was okay. If you want to see beautiful KY countryside with horses, pick another race. If you like to be in city setting this race is ok.

This is a smaller race organized by the area running group. Good if you live in the area but not a destination race. 2 loops with hills for the half. Lake view during run, so it’s not just dirt and hills. I’m glad and appreciate the group arranges the run. Small number of hydration stations. The medal was pretty nice. Since it loops around a park spectators can see you 3-5 times, start, loop to approach end of loop, again at end of loop if you cross small bridge, then repeat at second loop/finish.
