This was my first ultra-marathon and this course was so scenic and beautiful. Overall, my time was slower than I thought it would be but I also enjoyed myself way more than I thought I would.
Notes on the course: the first 10-15 miles of terrain was a lot of climbing up and down rocks, and the end of the race has a 5-mile loop that’s pretty tough but makes for a rewarding end.
The aid stations were great, they had water, snacks, gels, and hydration packets. All the race volunteers were nice and the race was put together very well.

My group signed up for this race as a “training run” for our ultra marathon. It was basically the only February marathon within the midwest we could find, and I am glad we did because it was a fun race. This course was 12 loops. It was supposed to be 6 but because of water overflow on parts of the course, it was changed to 12. You get to pass the two aid stations every loop, the people who set up the race, and all the volunteers are so nice. Overall, it was a unique experience I really enjoyed.

This was such an awesome experience. The energy of this race is so great. I feel like I didn’t need to run with music because I was so energized by the crowd and the runners around me. It’s a flat course, so great to shoot for a PR. It is important to note that it is a very crowded race the whole way through.
