Challenging to get to — be sure you buy the ferry ticket to the island from the right ferry company (there are two!), and it is a pedestrian only ferry so no car or support from car. You may have to wait an hour in cold ocean breeze for the return trip on the ferry when you are soaking wet, so be sure to bring ample warm extra layers to put on following the race. But the organization is excellent and the race itself seemed flawless, with timely starts, easy-to-follow markings, and ample aid station support. The medals are artful and pretty, and the age group awards exceptional.

There is no race. In 2017, the organizer kept all the money but those who went complained that virtually nothing that was promised was offered — no prize money, no transports, etc. I entered in 2018, but the organizer cancelled the race while keeping all the money. He also did not answer Better Business Bureau complaints. He is registered as Sports in Motion LLC of Omaha (although there are unaffiliated companies with that same name in other states), so I would be wary of sending money to any organizer with a “Sports in Motion” website domain or contact point. (I do notice that the race website has been taken down for this race.)
