Main challenges with this course is that it`s really confusing if you don`t “study” for it ahead. I screwed up a turn on the first half, which cost me about .5 miles. Fortunately, I had a friend that noticed and chased me to advise about my mistake – it was difficult to regain the focus as it`s so frustrating a run an extra half mile on such a long race, at least mentally.

They advertise the course as “flat and fast” which I disagree. There are some hills that may affect your end result. Weather in TX might be a little bit hot in late April also.
Race production is ok – had plenty of water stops and bathrooms along the course.

Wouldn`t do it again.

Not so luck on my day, as it was very cold and raining throughout the race. One big positive item is the abundance of bathrooms along the course, I would say that every 3-4 miles there was something. They should change the course on the second half, as it is very boring to run down and up the same street for 10-12 miles, it also plays a big mind game on the runner. After party is not so good, either.

Lots of water & gatorade stops, almost every mile.

Aid stations provided throughout the course, great organization by Rhode Races, as usual. They should to improve the quality of T-shirts.

Overall flat paved race, you’ll get a nice steep of 0.2 miles towards the end of the race (~mile 22?) which can be touph. Organization was prestige, although they should improve the overall quality of T-shirts, lots of water/food stations throughout the course, with water, gatorade, banana, energy bars and gels.
This year was somewhat cold with rain at the end.
