Did the new course in 2025. Showed up at 6 am when gondolas opened and ended up waiting in 40 degree weather for an hour until we could board the gondola to start racing. We were freezing and lost our warm up by the time we started. The actual race itself was steep, at times dangerous, and a very difficult trail run. I saw multiple people trip and fall, a few people vomit, multiple twisted ankles, and even a human poop in the trail (there were 5 bathrooms at only 3 rest stops in 13 miles). While the race guide said there was no passing for first four miles, participants did not listen, and there was bottlenecked sections and injury. At least 4 miles downhill and uphill on rocky gravel that could not be ran without twisted ankles or knees. Would recommend any other race but this.

The course scenery was absolutely beautiful – the miles flew by because I was so distracted by the Rockies! The operations of the race were great and I didn’t have any difficulties. I love the medal, shirt, snacks, and swag we were given, plus the aide offered at various stations along the course. It was an amazing first half marathon experience and made me want to do many more!
