This was my 8th full marathon, and it was great. They keep you informed and if there are any questions, the “staff” are there to answer anything. A decent expo, smaller then previous years. The first half of the race is good, lots of spectators and then you hit the split. You turn right to finish the half, and you go straight to finish the full. It is sad to see a HUGE majority of runners single off and finish the half. Hardly any spectators for the marathon runners. The second half of the race, there is hardly any shade, so it does get hot, be prepared for that. A few small hills here and there, but overall a decent course. The water station volunteers were awesome. Cheering you on as you walk through their station, which helps if you are one who is a back of the packer.

This was the 10th year of the Good Life Halfsy. I’ve ran this race the past 9 years, and it is a favorite. It was an awesome race. The race swag was top notch. I love the zip up jackets we got. Packet pickup was a breeze with a lot of vendors. I feel like this race, you get soo many items. I always feel like they are putting items in my bag when you go to get your bib.
The race morning was pretty good. It was easy to get to the start and line up. I loved the mile markers with a pink gorilla at each. Plenty of water/gatorade stations. Spectators all along the course yelling your name, which is a huge motivator for me! Course is mostly flat, a few hills. The food afterwards was plenty. This year was something new, the Capitol City Challenge. If you finished the Lincoln Marathon/Half that is in May and complete this race, you earn 2 medals at the end of the Halfsy. So, run 2 races an earn 3 medals…who doesn’t like that?? Overall, great race Pink Gorilla! I will be back next year!

I love this race, I have ran it every year and it gets better each year! I love the Pink Gorilla events, they know how to do events and take care of their participants. I actually won a free race entry for this, which was awesome!
Everything was great, my Performance was not. I did this race 7 months pregnant, so I think that may have had something to do with it.
I definitely recommend this race!!

This was my Colorado race. Overall, it was pretty decent. Packet pick up/Expo was at Mile High Stadium. It was very cool to walk around the suites and look down at the field from that high up. Lots of companies handing out free samples, which is cool.
I loved the early 0600 start time. My advice is to get there early! I was there by 0430. Had no issues with finding parking. I really liked that they split the start for the different races. The marathon and marathon relay started at 0600 while the half started at 0630. I really liked that the courses were different. I never felt like I was crowded and couldn’t move. Also, it was nice to know that everyone I was running with were all doing the same distance. The highlight for me was running through Mile High Stadium twice. My husband is a huge Broncos fan, so being able to run where his team plays was awesome. I was a little disappointed with the amount of spectators. Not as many as I was thinking there would be. There was one guy with his kids that were handing out popsicles and had spray bottles to spray the runners as they went by…THANK YOU!!
There were plenty of aid stations throughout the course and plenty of music, which is always fun!
Once you crossed the finish, you received your medal and were able to get food. It seemed that by the time I finished most of the food was gone. They had the extra bagels out on one of the tables, someone was handing out trail mix, and then 2 ladies were handing out ice cream sticks. They did offer I think it was a sort of brat lunch. Not sure what you all got with that. I didn’t partake. I finished and just wanted to get back to my hotel and shower. The medals were nice. I didn’t care for the shirt.

-This was my first Rock N Roll series race and I really enjoyed it. I liked the bands at every mile
-The course was flat with a small little hill towards mile 9 I believe
-Plenty of water/gatorade stations
-I liked the course scenery (I’m not from around here)
-Would have been nice to have a few more food options for the post race goodies. I feel like they were limited to like 3 things-a bag of chips, fruit snacks, and maybe a bag of cookies. However, they did give out cases of alcohol. I saw multiple people walking around with cases. I’m not a drinker, so I didn’t partake.
-My complaint is for the medals. If you run for the medals, like I do (what can I say, I like my bling 🙂 ), then this wouldn’t make the cut. Very disappointed in the size of the medals. For as big as this race is, I would have thought they would have been a tad bigger. I’ve ran multiple halfs and this is the smallest one I’ve seen. Very, very small. Very disappointed. Hate that I traveled 20 hours for this race and got the smallest medal ever. 🙁

I run this race every year. This year it was soo sad that they canceled it due to lightening. They gave the option for runners to continue running, but you run on your own accord, or finishing the race virtually. The course is pretty flat. There is a small incline towards the beginning and towards the finish- you run up a little bridge. The crowd support is awesome. I love the Pink Gorilla events, they do a good job with everything. I know there is nothing you can do about Mother Nature and they called it for the safety of everyone involved, as they should.

I really enjoyed this race. It was super flat, I think there might have been one very small hill early on in the course, but nothing huge. I did the I 35 challenge this year. This race was super easy compared to the Kansas City Half the day before.
Lots of spectators, which is nice. I’d say the downside was the line for food. The line was soo long, I decided I didn’t want to wait and left without any goodies. I would highly recommend this race and would do it again.

This was my first time doing this race. The pre race information was good. Race directors sent out emails keeping us informed. The packet pickup was pretty good, easy to get to, easy parking. Start was pretty organized, word of advice-get there early for parking. Finish had plenty of food and the medals were nice. Always a plus when they have different medals for the different distances. My con to the race is the hills! So many hills, that’s what slowed me down. Overall, pretty good organized event!

This was my first time being involved with this race. I wasn’t the captain, so I can’t speak for how well they notified you of any changes or if there were any issues with the whole process, etc. However, as a member of the relay, I feel like Pink Gorilla did a good job. My legs of the race where hilly!! They did give a pretty good description of what each leg is like. Basically to get from the different exchange points, you follow the line of vans. Volunteers did a good job helping out, telling you where to go. My complaint is that they did mess up on our shirts (why white shirts? A fun color would have been nice). Didn’t give us the right sizes we selected. We were lucky, and were able to switch with some other fellow racers. The race is fun, but it makes for a VERY long day. We arrived in Omaha I think at 4:30-5am and finished about 5pm.

My first 10k, and it was good! A well put on race, Pink Gorilla Events does an awesome job with their races. It was a little hilly throughout the course, but you run through the state park, which is nice. This was my first time doing this, so I had to park at the Ashland high school I believe. They have busses that take you from the school to the start, which is at the Air and Space Museum, maybe 10 minutes away??
You get free beer if your gender is the first to cross the finish line.
Overall, a well put on event.

I really loved this race. I ran it in 2017 and then 2019. Both courses were in Omaha, I think they changed the location in 2020?? Everything from packet pickup to the start is super easy. I enjoyed the course a lot…flat with a few challenging hills. I think the big hill is like either mile 4 or 6. The first year I ran it, the medals were in the shape of Nebraska, which was pretty cool. I loved running across the Pedestrian Bridge. The after-party was pretty good. Had to walk a little way to have access to the buses, but overall a good, fun race!

Let me start off saying that the low reviews are because of me. I hate trail running, never been a fan. I was looking for a race on Thanksgiving that was close by, and this was the winner. I should have known it would be difficult for someone who always runs on pavement. I didn’t trail for this race, so that made it really difficult. The course wasn’t anything to get excited about, basically just running in a field. The shirt and the finisher’s cup were cute. I still use my cup to this day.

This was my first half marathon and I enjoyed it. I thought the course was good, challenging in some parts. Everything was pretty easy to navigate from packet pick up to race start, finish. The year I ran this, the medals were made of glass with the Omaha Marathon emblem engraved on it, very cool. I ran this in 2011, and it is still one of my favorite medals. The swag was pretty cool. I wore the shirt many times.
