We were assigned a start time that was too early for the speed of our team, so we had to be concerned with being held at exchanges. Not cool! We also were running with very few people, which simply isn’t fun in Ragnar. We had storms, which kept us from running all the legs (understandable, since weather can’t be controlled). However, the rules from the Race Bible for how the team’s times should be calculated due to storms wasn’t followed by the Race Director. Average team’s pace were supposed to be calculated according to the Bible; instead we a just had 5 hours subtracted from our total time. Most disturbing of all was the fact that there WERE NOT CLEAR DIRECTIONS FOR RUNNERS AT EXCHANGE 18! IF I DIDN’T HAVE MY PHONE, I WOULD’VE GOTTEN LOST IN THE DARK. SIGNS WERE MOVED ON THE COURSE SO WE DIDN’T KNOW WHICH WAY TO GO. So much room for improvement on controllable factors. This made our team very concerned about whether we want to do another Ragnar in the future. I won’t be back to the “Great” Midwest.
